The Manchester Sportcity Screen Wall was designed to create an distinctive edge to the Alan Turing Way, a busy Commonwealth Games Stadium approach road. It is also part of the new development and regeneration of the Bradford area to the east of Manchester City centre. The lighting patterns were informed by punch cards used by early textile industries and the computing systems of Alan Turing as a link to the historical background of the local area.
